Instructor in Surgical Pathology in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine

Job Description:

Functions as a clinical faculty member of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine reporting directly to the Specialty Service Director or Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs with the following responsibilities:

Clinical Duties (100%):

• Non-accredited training curriculum working directly under the supervision of the faculty in the various divisions of Surgical Pathology.

• Provide surgical pathology diagnostic services under the supervision of the subspecialty Division directors of the surgical pathology services.

• Performing and interpreting frozen sections and providing evening and weekend call coverage for the surgical pathology services at UM Hospital, Sylvester Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

• Attending tumor boards and education sessions related to surgical pathology.

• Attending tumor boards and education sessions related to surgical pathology.

• Program certification issued upon completion.

The work is mainly performed in a hospital environment and high level of citizenship and professionalism is expected.
